Botanical description
Mamey tree is ornamental, perennial, which can reach a height of up to 40 meters and a diameter at chest height of more than 1 meter. The trunk is straight and may have buttresses.
Outer bark is fissured and detaches into rectangular pieces, brown gray to brown, with a thickness of 10 to 20 mm. The leaves are spirally arranged, agglomerated at the tips of the branches, simple.
Flowers are solitary, agglomerated in the armpits of fallen leaves, brownish green calyx with numerous obtuse sepals. The corolla is cream greenish, elongated in shape and lustrous surface, black or brown.
Fruits are berries up to 20 cm long, ovoid, reddish brown in color and rough texture.
Mesocarp is sweet, fleshy, orange to reddish in color, with small amounts of latex when immature. It usually contains a seed up to 10 cm long, ellipsoid, and black to dark brown color.
Lemongrass is a herbaceous, perennial, aromatic and robust plant that is propagated by cuttings and belongs to the grass family.
Flowers gather in spikelets of 30-60 cm in length forming clusters.
Leaves are very aromatic and elongated like slats, rough, light green that sprout from the ground forming dense bushes.
Flowers are grouped in spikes and look bent just like the leaves.
